St Nicholas’ Church has a Norman round tower and a 14th century nave. A chunk of metal is imbedded in the 15th century font, in the winged lion of St Mark, and may be from an axe of pick used by Puritan iconoclasts. The colourful memorial to William Vesey and family probably looks much as it did back in 1644. The unusual 17th century communion rails depict cherubs riding sea monsters.
