The church is set in a pretty churchyard surrounded by fields. The church is normally open all day and visitors are very welcome to look round this attractive church. A ramp is available just inside the door. There is a small car park outside the church gate. The Parish church of St Nicholas is both a historic building and a centre for the spiritual life of the village. The present church is not the first on the site and the Domesday book records both a church and rectory here. It is a Grade I listed building with a long history and has a nave dating from the C14, a C14 font and a C15 chancel. Traces of the C14 windows remain, while the short, winding stair to the left of the pulpit once led to a rood screen. The Berney family's mausoleum was added on to the north side of the chancel during the C18. Its entrance is through the doorway of an older mausoleum dating from the C16.The remains of a terracotta monument are to be seen surrounding this doorway. Bracon Ash is part of the Mulbarton Group of churches which includes Bracon Ash, Flordon, Hethel and Mulbarton.
