St Andrew's Church is was remodelled by the 19th Century architect S.S. Teulon. He had been rebuilding Shadwell Park, a country house nearby, when he was asked to turn his attention to the church itself. The 14th century tower and Norman south doorway was retained but everything else was replaced. But this wasn't the end of the story as, in the early 20th century, all the stained glass and furnishings were removed in favour of an Art Nouveau style
